Travis Spencer is a therapist, an army veteran, African drummer and a mindfulness facilitator. Over the years, Travis generously dedicated himself to serve African-Americans and communities of color through counseling families, young people, organizing drumming opportunities for kids, and co-founded a non-profit, the Institute of African American Mindfulness (IAAM) to offer mindfulness and other healing practices to People of Color in Washington DC.
Travis graduate from Trinity Washington University with a Masters of Arts degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling.
As a Mindfulness Teacher and Trainer, Travis fosters ongoing relationships and partnerships with MINDS Inc., EL Haynes Public Charter Schools, Run Hope Work, Eastern High School, and Educare DC. Additionally, He is a member of Early Childhood Innovation Network – MedStar Georgetown (ECIN), and an active board member of the Insight Meditation Community of Washington (IMCW).
