BBRC ONLINE
We offer a variety of Online Retreats and programming to help make meditation and mindfulness accessible beyond the mountain.

Why Choose an Online Retreat?
While we love residential retreats, we also recognize that finding the time for an in person retreat & joining us on the mountain can be a challenge. We aim to make retreat practice as accessible as possible and our online retreats do just that. Online retreats are also a great supplement to in-person retreat practice. Doing an online retreat can help connect you with that retreat feeling and re-awaken the devotion to practice.
Online retreats offer the unique opportunity to deepen your practice in a “real world” setting, where meditation practice and regular life intersect more than in a typical residential retreat. This can be supportive for integrating the practice into your life. Online Retreats help bridge the gap between the cushion and daily life and build an enduring momentum of practice.
Practice from Anywhere
Online retreats are accessible from anywhere with an internet connection! Even if you choose to join from somewhere besides your home, the daily rhythms of preparing food, cleaning & showing up to the cushion (and the screen) to gather with virtually with others amidst more possible distractions can help strengthen your practice. In this way, online retreats retreats offer a unique balance of community and self-direction.
Sliding Scale
All registration fees for our online retreats are offered at sliding scale pricing. Our sliding scale options for online retreats include financial support for teachers & are priced to be as accessible as possible. BBRC is committed to financial accessibility. If you find the retreat pricing is inaccessible to you, please reach out to guestservices@bigbearretreatcenter.org to inquire about more financial support.

Accessible to Busy Lives
While it’s preferable to be as fully present as possible, one of the benefits of online retreats is the flexibility they offer. If you are a caregiver or have other responsibilities that make residential retreat feel out of reach, our online retreats are for you! Our online retreats are designed to be shorter, weekend-long retreats to make them accessible to folks with busy lives.
Physically and Geographically Accessible
Online retreats offer the opportunity to sit with renowned and beloved teachers to those who are disabled, immunocompromised, or who live rurally, internationally or in other locations that make travel difficult. This can create a more diverse community of practitioners.
